What to do for April Fools Day

Failure of Imagination

Every year, I fail to come up with an April Fool’s Day prank. When I was ten, I convinced my sister’s boyfriend that the black band around his pack of Marlborough cigarettes signified the president of the company had died. I successfully convinced him of this; but it was August, not April Fool’s Day.

What we have here is a failure of imagination!

Wake up to Sonoma Spring

I carry a bright green clicker with me (when I have a pocket). I use it to track the thoughts passing through that are accompanied by “negative” thoughts. If I capture only two percent of them, the click count is very high. What an insight: discovering that I am not nearly as nice a person as I thought myself is worth a hearty laugh.

My thoughts have been so self-absorbed that I was oblivious to the glorious Spring playing out here, in Sonoma County. Happily, I did wake up to it to the point that I posted a page about it in my “Front Door” blog.

Without a doubt, I need to change – from the inside out.
